A well-known family of pedigree sheep breeders is preparing to hold its twelfth annual on farm tup sale next week.
The Ingram family – William and Carole, and their children Gregor, Bruce and Amy – is hosting the sale at their Logie Durno Farm, near Pitcaple, Inverurie. The sale, which takes place at the farm on Tuesday, will feature 312 performance recorded rams.
The family said this was the highest number of rams forward for sale, with 52 more set to go under the hammer than last year.
Amy Ingram said: “These grass-fed tups come from eight breeds, four of which are pedigree and the other four being genetically stabilised breeds we have developed over many years to combine desirable traits from various types of sheep.”
The breeds on offer are Texel, Durno Beltex, Durno, Suffolk, Charollais, Fronteira, Bluefaced Leicester and Logie.
Rams will be available to view at 3pm, and the sale starts at 4pm.
