Agronomy firm Agrii has been unveiled as the new sponsor for the Turriff Show for the next two years.
Show organisers – the Turriff and District Agricultural Association – said the company will be the main sponsor for the 2018 and 2019 shows.
The association also confirmed that it had acquired a neighbouring field, adjacent to the showground.
It said this would allow for potential future growth of the show.
Society president, Scott McKilligin, said: “It’s great news that a company like Agrii, with strong links in the local farming community, has decided to come on board with sponsorship of the show for the next two years.
“It is a testament of Turriff Show’s importance in the agricultural scene that we have agreed a new arrangement with Agrii and we very much look forward to working with their team, over the next two years.”
In a statement, Agrii said: “We are delighted to become the main sponsor of the Turriff Show for the next two years.
“Agrii is responsible for a substantial footprint in Aberdeenshire, including a seed plant at Turriff, a contract spraying base near Methlick and a chemical store near Inverurie.
“Through sponsorship of the Turriff Show, Agrii hopes to work with the show committee and organisers to bring knowledge and experience to show visitors that will help address some of the farming challenges of today with confidence.”
