Claas has revealed details of a number of new options being made available next season for its Quadrant 4200, 5200 and 5300 balers.
This includes the availability of an integrated bale weighing and high-end LED lighting system, and the addition of the pull-out knife drawer as an option for the 4200 model.
“Integrated bale weighing is a function that will appeal to all farmers and contractors who want to keep a close eye on bale quality during the baling operation,” said Claas.
Each bale is weighed automatically while it is being made using scales fitted in the bale ramp. Bales can be weighed at vehicle speeds of up to 20km per hour and the maximum measurement value error under normal working conditions is plus or minus 5kg. The weight of each bale is visible to the driver in the cab, and weights are also saved according to job or area.
Claas said operators using its Telematics sytem would also be able to use the bale weight data to generate the total area yield and the yield distribution by individual field, showing the bale location, individual weights and moisture level.
The new optional LED lighting system comprises seven additional high-quality lights fitted on key operating components of the baler, including the drawbar and feed rake.
Lastly, Claas said the option to add the pull-out knife drawer to the 4200 model offered huge benefits to contractors.
It reduces the time required for knife cleaning or to completely change over knives from one hour to 15 minutes.
