Beef and sheep farms make final of AgriScot awards

Two farms in the north and north-east have been named as finalists in the AgriScot Scotch Beef and Scottish Sheep Farm of the Year Awards.
The awards, organised by AgriScot in conjunction with Quality Meat Scotland with sponsorship from Thorntons Solicitors, aim to showcase excellence in beef and lamb production in Scotland.
The finalists for the Scottish Sheep Farm of the Year Award are: Andrew Robertson’s Titaboutie Farm, Coull Aboyne; Ian Whiteford’s Hilltarvit Mains, Cupar, Fife; and Charley and Andrea Walker’s Barnside Farm, Abbey Saint Bathans, Duns.
The finalists for the Scotch Beef Farm of the Year Award are: Pitgaveny Farm near Elgin, managed by Martin Birse with head stockman Geoff Anderson; Douglas and James Frame’s Birks Farm, near Carluke; and the Fleming family’s Castle Sinniness in Glenluce, Dumfries and Galloway.
