Aberdeenshire breeder Garry Patterson lifted the supreme championship title and the top price of 65,000gn at the early spring show and sale of Limousins at Carlisle.
Mr Patterson, who runs the Aultside herd at Upper Forgie, Aultmore, Keith, led the sale with 17-month-old bull Aultside Meanmachine. An ET son of Wilodge Cerberus, out of Spittalton Flush, he is a full brother to the 55,000gn Aultside Hulk and 18,000gn Aultside Mystique.
Meanmachine was overall senior continental champion at the Stars of the Future last year. He sold in a two-way split to Haltcliffe, Hesket Newmarket, Wigton, Cumbria, and Procters Farm Ltd, Woodhouse Lane, Clitheroe, Lancashire.
The judge, Colin Phillips of the Powerhouse herd in Herefordshire, also selected an Aberdeenshire-bred bull for his reserve champion.
This was November-2016 born Westpit Macgregor from the Gammie family at Drumforber, Laurencekirk. An AI son of Amptertaine Gigolo, out of Westpit Florence, he sold for 15,000gn to T.W. Oliver, Cawfields Haltwhistle, Northumberland.
