A series of women-only agricultural events are set to take place across Scotland later this month.
The events have been organised by the Scottish Government’s Farm Advisory Service programme, which is being delivered by SAC Consulting.
They will cover a range of topics from accounts and mental health awareness, to diversification opportunities and the role of social media.
Siobhan Macdonald, of SRUC, who helped organise the events, said: “Women working in Scottish agriculture face a number of challenges but there are also many opportunities available. These free events are a great chance for women to find out more about these opportunities, to learn, to share ideas and to be inspired by a range of speakers and interactive sessions.”
Events include two sessions on mental health and IACS topics at the Ayre Hotel in Kirkwall, Orkney, at 7.30pm on March 15 and 10.30am on March 16.
An event focused on food and drink diversification opportunities will take place at the Craigellachie Hotel in Speyside at 11am on March 20, and a similar event is planned for March 21 at 11am at the Banchory Lodge Hotel, Banchory.
An event on livestock records and accounts is planned for March 23 at the Inverary Inn, Argyll, while IACS, grants and social media is the focus of an event in Inverness the next day.
Two more meetings about diversification opportunities are planned for March 27 at the Ulbster Arms Hotel, Halkirk, at 11am, and March 28 at the Northern Hotel, Brechin, at 11am.
