Aberdeen & Northern Marts (ANM) has appointed a new auctioneer and announced plans to train two existing members of staff in the art of auctioneering.
The company has recruited Helen Rickard, a previous employee at ANM, to its livestock auction team. She will provide support to deputy head of livestock, Colin Slessor, and undertake canvassing and auctioneering duties for sheep sales.
ANM Group executive director, John Gregor, said: “The addition of Helen to our auctioneer team will strengthen the team as a whole while allowing the business to grow its customer base through a wider geographical area.”
He said the group had also taken the decision to move two existing employees – Ellis Mutch and James Scott – to new roles as trainee auctioneers.
Mr Mutch is currently a livestock fieldsman serving customers in the Buchan area.
In his new role, he will work from Thainstone and continue to serve Buchan customers.
Mr Scott is working part-time at the group while studying an HND in agriculture – he will become a full-time employee in Augsut on completion of his studies and be based between the Thainstone Centre and the group’s base in the north at Quoybrae, Caithness, in his new role.
