Farmers and crofters across the north and north-east of Scotland continued to make silage before the weather broke in the middle of the week.
Tractors, foragers and balers were put to good use while the sun shined and silage pits and bale piles began to fill up across the region.
Livestock producers were keen to stockpile feed for the coming winter season after shortages were felt during the spring.
And along with their arable counterparts, and those potato and vegetable growers already irrigating crops, they will now be hoping for rain to push grass on for grazing livestock and second-cut silage.
Here is a selection of readers’ pictures showing silage-making on a range of farms including the most northerly dairy farm on the UK mainland and Gellyhill Farm, near Banff.
