A new centre record was set when a shearling ram sold for 2,100gn at the Scottish Jacob sale at St Boswells.
The sale topper was the supreme champion – Harbell Lincoln by Arkleside Dudley, from MW Harper, Woodside Cottage, Hawick. He sold to Ewen MacMillan, Fintry, Glasgow.
Other leading prices included 700gn for January-born ram lamb Gowanbank Carter, by Fields Flash, from Mr & Mrs W Crowe, Heaughhead Farm, Friockheim, Arbroath. He sold to Connor & Dalrymple, Linlithgow. Another January-born ram lamb – Hyndshaw Brooklyn, by Pentrenant Sammy, from H Baillie, Rowanbank, Carluke – sold for 450gn to S Robertson, Dufftown, Keith.
In the female section a top price of 1,400gn was paid for the female and reserve supreme champion.
Consigned by S Harries of Wenant, Carmarthenshire, the January-born ewe lamb by Hope Rocky Boy sold to Ewen MacMillan.
Meanwhile, Adam Christie, who runs the Adamski flock at Glass, Huntly, bought two Kinloch lambs, by Oakdean Dave, from M Munro, Kinloch, Ladybank, Fife, for 650gn and 480gn, and a Kinloch ewe lamb by Kinloch Emlyn, for 600gn. Jennifer Milton, of Auchindachy, Keith, paid 580gn for a Gowanbank ewe, by Carochy Poitin, from Mr and Mrs W Crowe.
