Farmers’ union launches drawing competition for children
ByGemma Mackenzie
Children are being asked to draw their interpretation of farming through the seasons in Scotland as part of a new NFU Scotland (NFUS) competition.
The aim of the contest, which will be judged by NFUS president Andrew McCornick, is to engage children with agriculture and get them thinking about where their food comes from.
The winning entries will be featured in the union’s membership magazine and the overall winner will receive a Siku farm bundle from Farm Toys Online. The runner-up will receive a £50 Amazon gift card.
The contest is open to children aged between three and 15. The drawing must be in pen on an A4 sheet of paper, in portrait orientation.
Originals of the drawing must be sent to Ruth McClean, NFU Scotland, Rural Centre, West Mains, Ingliston, Edinburgh, EH28 8LT, by noon on Tuesday November 20.
Entries must include the child’s name and age and the parent or guardian’s contact details.
The winners will be contacted on November 23.
