A 19-month, 603kg British Blue cross heifer took the prime cattle championship at Caithness Livestock Centre’s Christmas show and sale.
From Balfour Baillie, Sebay Cottage, Tankerness, it sold for £3,100 to judge Blair Duffton of Backmuir Livestock Ltd, Huntly, buying for Gary Bell, Lockerbie.
The prime lamb championship went to a pair of Jacob crosses from Stainland & Sibmister Farms, Castletown.
Weighing 45.5kg, they sold for £260 each to Jennifer Lamont, Mackays Hotel, Wick.
