Luing cattle made some of their highest prices ever at the 54th premier sale at Castle Douglas.
The top price was an 18,000gn bid for a rising two-year-old bull, Finlarg Warrior, from Robert and Hazel McNee of Over Finlarg, Tealing, Dundee.
He sold to Professor William Penny of Harehead Farm, Duns, Berwickshire.Another bull from Messrs McNee of Woodend Farm, Armadale – Benhar Wrangler – sold for 10,000gn to Kedzlie Farm Ltd, Galashiels.
Shortly after Prof Penny received the second top price of the show and sale of 17,000gn which was paid by Colin MacArthur & Co of Nunnerie Farm, Elvanfoot for the April 2017-born bull Harehead Walker.
