Angus Show went ahead despite the competitions for cattle, sheep and horses being cancelled.
Show organisers cancelled these classes due to “extreme unexpected weather conditions”.
However, visitors flocked to the event to enjoy other attractions including trade stands, goat classes and vintage tractor football.
A group of nine industry stalwarts was also awarded long-service medals for a combined 334 years working in the industry.
The recipients were: Alexander Anderson for 30 years at AK Stirling, Drumbertnot, Lunan; Raymond John Fraser for 30 years at East Coast Viners; Graeme Struth for 34 years working at Mains of Ardestie, Monifieth, with Stuart Booth and latterly HS Reid of The Laws, Kingennie; David Torrie for 30 years with HS Reid, The Laws; Jeffrey Mackie for 50 years at Carnegie Crop Services, Laurencekirk; George McGregor for 50 years at WH Johnston, Cunmont Farm, Kingennie; Kenneth Smart for 30 years at Derachie Farm, Forfar; Donald McKenzie for 50 years at IR Stirling, Dickmontlaw, Abroath; and Keith McDonald for 30 years with the Breckenridge family, Glamis.
