Limousin crosses were top of the pops at two store cattle show and sales at Aberdeen and Northern Marts.
The championship at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, was awarded to a 13-month-old Limousin cross heifer from Steven Smith, the Byre, Sunnyhill Croft, Turriff.
Weighing 512kg and sired by Aultside Lord, she stood champion with her dam at last year’s Banchory Show and sold for £1,200 to Backmuir Livestock, Keith.
Reserve was a 492kg Limousin cross bullock from J Fraser and Sons, Lethen Mains, Nairn, selling for £1,140 to A and S Moggach, Newton of Clunie, Turriff.
The champion at the Caithness Livestock Centre was a Limousin cross bullock from Donald Budge, Brae Edge, Castletown, Thurso. Weighing 543kg, and bred in Skye, he sold for £1,180 to Caithness Livestock Breeders (CLB).
Reserve was a 566kg Limousin cross bullock from M Mackay, Buldoo, Dounreay, which made £1,090 to CLB.
