Well-known north-east farmer and Shetland Pony breeder, Harry Sleigh, enjoyed success at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show.
Mr Sleigh, who runs the Wells Shetland Pony Study at St Johns Wells, Fyvie, lifted the Shetland breed championship at the show.
His winner was home-bred 10-year-old stallion, Wells Legand. He is by Wells Extra Special, which sired this year’s Royal Highland Show heavy horse champion Wells Reliance, and out of Wells Vita.
Although this is his first showing season, Legand’s sister stood champion at the Highland Show in 2014.
