Zwartbles topped at 2,200gn at the breed’s premier show and sale in Carlisle.
The sale topper – selling jointly to Messrs Baird and McLaren’s Greystone flock near Dunblane and Messrs Miskelly’s Corrybrae flock near Alford – was shearling ram Pistyll Fire Cracker, by Pistyll Charmer, from GA & HM Francis, Carmarthen.
Next best at 2,000gn was January 2018-born gimmer, Joyfield Flawless, from Joyce and Neil Millar, Woodhouse Mains, Lockerbie. She sold to Messrs Wilkie, Skene Westhill, near Aberdeen.
Other leading prices included 1,500gn for a gimmer name Greystone Fauna from Messrs Baird and McLaren, selling to the Addison family’s Hayberries flock at Barnard Castle. Greystone also made 800gn selling a ewe lamb named Greystone Gorse, by Craigies Djangos, to Messrs Crum, Kilmarnock.
Druid Temple Farm, near Inverness, also paid 800gn for a gimmer named Killymallaght Foxtrot, by Killymallaght Dragon, from A & R Megarrell, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
