Scottish breeders were out in force at a sale of pedigree Beltex sheep in Leek in Staffordshire.
Leading the sale at 800gn was a shearling ram from Fife breeder Andrew Wainwright, who runs the Todhall flock near Cupar.
His sale topper was Todhall Diesel, which is by the 3,800gn Rathbone Alien and out of a Kingledores Warrior daughter. He sold to Messrs Brassington and Renshaw.
Mr Wainwright also made 720gn selling Todhall Ducatti – a Callacrag Bull’s Eye son, bred from a Belgian import – for 720gn to R and S Bailey.
Other leading prices included 800gn for the supreme champion from the pre-sale show, selling to the judge, Heulwen Owens, for her Glantre flock in Wales. This was Cromwell Diago, an embryo transfer son of Airyolland Baltic out of Clary Profitable-sired Cromwell Sierra.
He was put forward by Adam Neachell, who runs the flock near Aldridge, Staffordshire.
Ewe lambs from the Barclay family, from Maybole, Ayrshire, topped the section at 400gn twice.
