You can help make this Scottish farmer’s buffalo mozzarella dream a reality

A Fife farmer has launched a crowdfunding campaign to start making Scotland’s first-ever buffalo mozzarella.
Steve Mitchell, who runs the Buffalo Farm, near Kirkcaldy, is seeking £800,000 to build a manufacturing plant, milking parlour and slurry store for the venture.
“We run three butcher shops, an event catering business, our own bistro and we also supply into a growing number of hotels and restaurants, and feedback has always been fantastic,” said Mr Mitchell.
“However, I have always felt that something is missing and so now the time is right to launch this crowdfunding Founders Club so we can give our customers access to their first soft, smooth and deliciously Scottish mozzarella.”
Three options are available to those wishing to support the venture ranging from a £100 donation for membership of the Buffalo Farm Supporters Club to £10,000 for those in the Buffalo Founders Executive Club who will be given rewards equivalent to a 12% annual return on their investment.
“My plans will create up to six new jobs and produce a quality and delicious product,” he added.
