The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is on the hunt for a new chairman.
The farm levy body organisation is seeking a replacement for Sir Peter Kendall, who ends his term as chairman at the end of March next year, as well as an independent board member to chair its audit and risk assurance committee.
All AHDB board members, including the chairman, are appointed by ministers in Defra and the devolved admini- strations.
“Influential and inspirational leadership and a proven ability to drive organisational change are among the key criteria for applicants for the role of chair as the industry looks to increase productivity and sustainability to ensure it’s in the best shape for the future,” said AHDB.
“With similar inspirational leadership qualities, the new independent board member and chair of the AHDB audit and risk assurance committee will ensure the values of good governance are upheld, particularly with regard to levy-funded activities.”
Both appointments will initially be for a three-year period from April 1 2020. The chairman will receive an annual salary of £55,000, based on a minimum commitment of 104 days per year, while the independent board member will receive £11,100 for 36 days’ work per year.
The closing date for applications for both is midday on October 22.
