Nominations are sought for the role of vice-president at NFU Scotland (NFUS).
The union is seeking nominations for the top job as one of the current two vice-presidents, Aberfeldy farmer Martin Kennedy, is up for re-election. The union’s other vice-president, Aberdeenshire farmer Charlie Adam, is not up for re-election until 2021. Mr Kennedy plans to stand for re-election.
“The role of vice-president presents the opportunity of representing Scottish farmers and crofters during one of the most exciting and challenging times for Scottish agriculture,” said NFUS chief executive Scott Walker.
“We invite applications from those keen to shape our post-Brexit farming industry.”
Anyone wishing to stand as vice-president is asked to contact Mr Walker to obtain a proposal form, which must then be signed and returned to him by close of play on Wednesday December 11.
The election takes place at the union’s annual general meeting in Glasgow next February.
