Farm businesses in the north are among a group of 10 in the running to win the Best Farming Business Award at the Scottish Rural Awards 2020.
Finalists include Easter Ross agricultural contracting firm Allan WJ Wilson Ltd, and Cupar-based on-farm micro abattoir and butchery, with game handling facility, Downfield Ltd.
Innovative meat producers are also in the running with the Keith-based Scottish Goat Meat Company and Kirkcaldy-based Buffalo Farm also vying for the award.
Other finalists include Fife arable farming contractor Kingdom Farming, and the livestock business of Messrs Finlay McGowan at Incheoch Farm near Alyth.
The Irvine family, which runs an extensive livestock enterprise at Inverlochy, Ballindalloch, is also in the running for the award alongside Bogrow Farm, near Tain, which features an on-farm butchery.
The last two finalists are Forest Farm – The Organic Dairy, Kinellar, near Aberdeen, which features milk vending machines; and precision farming firm SoilEssentials Ltd, near Brechin.
