NFUS vice-president Martin Kennedy is urging farmers to support rural charity RSABI (formerly the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution).
Mr Kennedy has signed up as a business supporter of the charity by making an annual donation to RSABI.
“Uncertainty and worry not only have an adverse impact on the financial viability of many businesses, but are also taking their toll on the health and wellbeing of many individuals,” he said.
“There’s so much pressure from all angles on the agriculture business now, whether it be financial difficulties or simply the fact we’re being asked to do more and more for less and less.
“It makes us feel undervalued with no recognition for all we’re providing.”
He said RSABI was speaking to more people than ever and supporting the charity was essential.
“Whether a business or family supporter, it’s a very small price to pay to help those involved in RSABI make a massive difference to many individuals and families,” said Mr Kennedy.
