One of NFU Scotland’s (NFUS) highest accolades has been presented posthumously to Glenlivet farmer Jim Innes who died recently, aged 67, after a short illness.
The Miskelly Award, which was established following the death of regional manager John Miskelly in 2006, is given in recognition of an individual’s outstanding dedication and achievement to the union and Scottish farming.
Mr Innes was a long-standing member of the NFUS less favoured areas committee and a past branch chairman.
Local NFUS secretary, Elaine Robertson, said: “Jim put a huge amount of time and effort into fighting for a sustainable future for the farming industry.”
The award was given to Jim’s wife, Jan, and his son James, at the NFUS annual dinner in Glasgow.
