A new land army initiative has launched to link up farmers and growers with workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The service has been created by Home Grown, a farmer-led project that explains how food is produced and the journey from field to fork.
It will use mapping technology to show farmers seeking workers, and people looking for work, in different parts of the country.
Home Grown said: “Using innovative technology, Home Grown is working with partners to bring farms and workers together in real-time – providing an easy-to-register operations centre that places workforce supply and demand on the map.
“If you have recently found yourself out of work and are able to join the land army, then get yourself on the map.”
