Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is encouraging people to cook some Scotch-inspired dishes to mark National Barbecue Week.
The move is part of a joint £1.2 million campaign to boost sales of beef with UK levy body AHDB and Welsh levy body Hybu Cig Cymru.
QMS will be providing barbecue recipe inspiration to consumers via print and online channels, and offering top tips on how readers can add their own twists to best enjoy the dishes they make.
The red meat levy body has also partnered with renowned UK barbecue blogger Marcus Bawdon of Country Wood Smoke, who will be sharing his take on Scotch Beef steak skewers with chimichurri sauce.
“Although the kitchen is the heart of the home, the barbecue is undoubtedly the heart of summer,” said QMS director of marketing and communications, Lesley Cameron.
“We want families to celebrate National Barbecue Week by enjoying simple, healthy and delicious recipes using top-quality products from Scottish farms and available in supermarkets and butchers across the country.”
