Farmers and horse enthusiasts have a week left to get their entries in for next month’s online Scottish Agricultural Show – and the application process could not be easier.
To enter any of the livestock or horse classes at the virtual event, which takes place on July 3-4, all you need are some details about your entry, one photo of the animal looking its best and a short video of it walking.
We have created a how-to guide to help you navigate the application process.
There are classes for cattle, goats, horses, sheep and poultry, as well as a section for young handlers.
Up and coming stocksmen and women can show off their skills in the young handlers contest – all we need is details of who they are, a picture of them with their animal, and a short video of them parading it.
A host of well-respected judges from across Scotland will then assess the entries and award champion rosettes to the best animals, or young handler, in each category.
The judges include Arbroath breeder Audrey Anderson who runs pedigree herds of Charolais and Hereford cattle.
She said: “I’m excited for the show; it’s something different and new.”
The show, sponsored by EQ Accountants, is being hosted by The Press And Journal and The Courier in partnership with the Royal Highland Show.
Full details are online at scottishagriculturalshow.co.uk and the deadline for livestock and horse entries is June 19. Good luck.
