HRN Tractors at Balbeggie in Perthshire will cease to be a John Deere dealership from the end of October.
Instead Forfar and Glenrothes-based Netherton Tractors Ltd is to open a new John Deere outlet in the Arran Road business park close to the A9 on the outskirts of Perth.
John Deere was tight-lipped about the change of dealers and said it would make no further comment on that or the future of its relationship with the remaining HRN outlets in the north-east of Scotland. HRN Tractors also declined to comment.
However, Netherton Tractors general manager Garry Smith said: “We are very much looking forward to expanding our business to cover this newly extended trading area and have already recruited a number of experienced staff in preparation for our opening.
“We specialise in all the main John Deere agricultural product lines, including tractors, harvesting equipment, sprayers, Gator utility vehicles and precision ag systems, as well as programmes such as PowerGard maintenance and protection, expert check and John Deere connected support.
“As a group we are committed to delivering the best possible machinery sales and service support to existing and new customers.”
John Deere Limited division sales manager, Chris Meacock, said Netherton Tractors had established a reputation for excellent customer service and support.
He added: “This latest investment will enable Netherton Tractors to further meet customer demand for John Deere’s advanced product range and the latest precision ag technology.”
