Old spinner helps harvest early tatties near Inverurie
ByGemma Mackenzie
An old spinner from the 1950s was put to good use at a north-east farm earlier this week.
Alan Bruce, from Tatties Wi Taste at Newbigging Farm, near Inverurie, sent in this picture of the machinery in action.
“We use an old spinner that digs up one bed at a time to see if the crop is ready,” said Mr Bruce. “These tatties then need picked off the ground by hand.”
Send in your harvest pictures, whether it be vegetables, grain or silage, to pj.farming@ajl.co.uk
