Machinery giant Claas has announced a number of upgrades to its Axion 800 range of tractors.
The company said tractors in the five-model range will now be powered by Stage V compliant engines and, although maximum power outputs will remain the same, rising from 205 horsepower (hp) for the Axion 800 to 295hp for the Axion 870, there is a slight increase in the torque curve.
“Externally, these new Stage V models are denoted by the new bonnet detailing first introduced on the new Arion 600/500 range last year,” said Claas.
“Internally, the operator now benefits from a number of new features which will provide both greater functionality but also greater comfort over long working days.”
New internal features include the company’s CEBIS Touch terminal with integrated ISOBUS UT.
Claas says it can be used as a universal implement control terminal. However, a separate terminal will still be needed for more advanced ISOBUS functions such as mapping and variable applications.
New features within the terminal include a USB socket for importing and exporting data, an upgrade to the implement settings and storage function, a reading for the average wheelslip, the ability to view external cameras through the CEBIS screen and greater customisation of the screen layout to suit individual operator preferences.
Other upgrades to the range include the option to have a 205 litres per minute hydraulic system – the standard system is 110 a minute with an option of 150 litres per minute.
“An engine speed memo button can also now be linked to the external PTO button through CEBIS, and the PTO system itself now features an uprated seven-plate PTO clutch for greater durability with heavy load implements,” added Claas.
“As standard, twin brake pedals will now be fitted along with a tinted rear window. Externally, the Axion 800 is now fitted with LED flashing lights and a flexible bottom step.”
