A new crime fighting vehicle has been introduced by police in Wales this week – a tractor with flashing blue lights.
Launched at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in Llanelwedd, it is hoped that the machine will help the police force form a stronger bond with rural communities over the summer months and encourage public engagement in agricultural events.
Inspector Tim Davies of Dyfed Powis Police said: “We’re very impressed with this new piece of kit – and are hoping it’ll encourage people to come and have a look and then to speak to us at events over the Summer.
“Engagement with our rural communities is very important to us.
“We’re sure it will appeal to children and adults alike, and as part of the fun why not have your photo taken with the tractor.”
However the tractor will not be involved in any low speed chases anytime soon as it is currently out on loan and will be returned at the end of the year.
