Scottish farmers and crofters have been urged to attend roadshows to learn about the new Common Agricultural Policy (Cap).
The Scottish Government will host 35 events across the country in November and December to explain how the new Cap system will work from January 1, 2015.
“We are about to implement the biggest reform of the Common Agricultural Policy in a generation and, while we have already provided information about the funding system, farmers and crofters will undoubtedly have questions about the practical implications of these changes,” said farm minister Richard Lochhead.
“These roadshows are the ideal opportunity for farmers and crofters to find out about the new Cap which comes into effect on January 1, 2015, as well as what they need to do to receive funding and all of the key dates and deadlines.
“Scottish Government officials will be on hand to answer any questions farmers and crofters may have and to talk through the new system we are introducing to make the transition as smooth as possible.”
Farmers are urged contact their local government office to find out about events in their area.
