Young farmers clubs across Scotland are invited to apply for funding to develop their clubs and districts.
The Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) has opened the Willie Davidson 75th Anniversary Fund for applications after reaching its fundraising target of £100,000.
The fund was set up commemorate both the association’s late vice president Willie Davidson and its 75th anniversary.
One of the key objectives of the fund is to advance the education and training of young people in areas such as agriculture, country life and home craft.
It also aims to fund schemes which promote and develop farm safety initiatives , as well as provide funding to help create new and develop existing clubs.
SAYFC national chairman Laura Fleming said: “The Willie Davidson 75th Anniversary Fund is a fantastic opportunity for our members, and will provide assistance to young farmers clubs throughout Scotland where they may not have been able to otherwise find it.
“On behalf of the association I would like to thank all those who have fundraised or donated to the fund, the support has been overwhelming and will be appreciated by all who are awarded money.”
SAYFC said it welcomes applications for anything from material goods to training and travel.
Each application will be reviewed on a case by case basis by a panel of current and past SAYFC members from all three regions.
There is no limit to how many applications an individual club or district can submit, and individual members are welcome to apply for funding provided they can prove it will benefit the wider young farmers community.
Application forms are available online at www.sayfc.org and the deadline for applications, to be reviewed in January, is December 1. Thereafter, applications will be reviewed in May and September.
