Italy’s FPT Industrial has provided the engine for the “tractor of the year” for the second year in a row.
The winning tractor, a Magnum 380 CVX made by fellow Italian firm CNH Industrial, was hooked up with one of FPT’s six-cylinder, 8.7-litre Cursor 9 engines.
The Magnum 380 was crowned by a panel of 23 journalists from prominent European publications at the recent International Agriculture and Gardening Machinery Exhibition in Bologna, Italy.
Turin-based FPT, which employs about 8,400 people in 10 manufacturing plants and six research and development centres worldwide, was the power behind last year’s victorious Class Axion 850 tractor.
FPT has already won industry accolades this year. The diesel of the year award was bestowed on its Cursor 16 engine in Verona in May, while the winner of international van of the year, the Iveco Daily, contained one of its F1 series engines.
