The man heading up United Auctions’ operations in the north – Donald Young – has been promoted to the role of director.
The group has promoted five auctioneers – Donald Young, David Brown, George Purves, John Roberts and Matt Stevenson – to group sales directors, while Christopher Sharp will become an administration director.
The six newly appointed directors will carry on with their current roles and work alongside group managing directors Neil McLean and Robin Tough, and executive chairman David Leggat who have led the company since completing a management buy-out in 2007.
Mr Leggat said: “We’re pleased to see this experienced group joining the board to further strengthen the business going forward.
“It’s testament to how seriously we take our professional training and development programme that we’re able to look within the company to find leadership talent with the right skills, contacts and knowledge at this level.”
David Brown and John Roberts deal with the commercial and pedigree cattle sales, including the Stirling Bull Sales.
George Purves and Matt Stevenson lead UA’s sheep sales with Mr Purves heading up prime sheep sales and Mr Stevenson in charge of store sheep sales while Christopher Sharp heads up the group’s administration function.
All the directors are members of the Institute of Auctioneers and have completed the Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership Programme.
