Royal Highland Show organisers have rebranded the show’s food hall as Scotland’s Larder Live as part of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink.
Visitors to the show, which takes place on June 18-21 at Ingliston, near Edinburgh, will get the chance to sample food and drink from more than 100 Scots producers.
In addition, a new ‘Food to Go’ map will be produced to give visitors information about the catering options at the show.
The guide will be produced thanks to funding from the Year of Food and Drive initiative, delivered by VisitScotland.
“The food hall at the Royal Highland Show is, without a doubt, always one of the most popular places to visit,” said farm minister Richard Lochhead.
“Having it rebranded this year as Scotland’s Larder Live really puts the focus, and rightly so, on our fantastic natural larder.”
According to show manager, David Jackson, 42% of visitors come to the show to enjoy the food and drink on offer.
He said: “This year we want to appeal to and attract a new and bigger urban consumer audience by developing and growing our food and drink offering whilst remaining true to our core values.
“The Royal Highland is the only food event that links together the farmer, the food producers – sometimes one and the same with farm diversification – and the consumer.”
