A bull from HM The Queen’s Balmoral fold of Highland cattle reigned supreme at a sun-kissed Tarland Show.
Four-year-old bull Prionnsa Dubh of Craigowmill lifted the supreme beef interbreed title after taking the Highland breed championship earlier in the day.
This one is by Panther 2nd Vom Aignerhof and out of Lady Alma Dubh of Craigowmill.
His Tarland win follows taking the breed championship at the Black Isle last week and Banchory last year.
Standing in reserve to the royal bull was the commercial champion from Blair Duffton and Rebecca Stuart of 2 Bogie Street, Huntly.
Their 19-month-old Limousin cross heifer Lady Moo Moo is no stranger to success – she lifted the supreme champion of champion titles at Fettercairn and New Deer as well as standing beef interbreed champion at Banchory.
She was bought at the Thainstone Spectacular in September last year for £3,800, and is by Haltcliffe Donny and bred by Grant Morrison, Newtack, Keith.
After making appearances at Keith today and Grantown on Thursday, she will be sold at Thainstone on Friday.
In the sheep section, the supreme title was lifted by a shearling Charolais tup on its first outing.
Logie Durno Obama was put forward by Ian Spence and Sue Pye of Tillychetty Cottage, Alford.
Standing reserve supreme champion was the Texel champion from Stuart Barclay at South Road, Insch.
This Forkins-bred one-crop ewe was bought in Northern Ireland from Alistair Gault. A Knock To Jan daughter, she stood reserve interbreed at Echt last month.
Lastly, in the equine classes the title of supreme horse went to the champion in the ridden section – Ashley McDonald of The Steading, Hill of Keir, Belhelvie.
She lifted the title on her 13-year-old Dutch Hunter gelding Carte D’or Van De Zijpe. He is by Poor Boy and out of Carte D’or Van De Selma.
Standing in reserve was another lot from HM The Queen – the Highland pony champion.
Balmoral Beth is a home-bred three-year-old filly, by Torrin of Croila and out of Misty Morn of Turin Hill. She was reserve champion at Turriff last year.
