Minimum pay rates for agricultural workers will rise on October 1.
The Scottish Agricultural Wages Board (SAWB) has confirmed that the pay rate for workers with more than 26 weeks of continuous employment will increase by 10p to £7.24.
This will bring the minimum wage for a 39-hour week to £282.36, while the overtime rate for these workers will increase by 15p to £10.86.
The wages board also confirmed that the pay rate for workers with less than 26 weeks continuous employment will go up by 20p to £6.70, bringing the minimum wage for a 39-hour week to £261.30. The overtime rate for this pay range will increase by 30p to £10.05.
The future of the board is up for discussion and government is currently analysing responses to a consultation on its future.
A government statement said: “Responses are currently being analysed and will be carefully considered before any decision is reached.”
