More than 70 golfers attended a charity golf tournament at Edzell Golf Club to raise £4,600 for rural charity RSABI.
The charity, which provides financial assistance to those who have relied on the land, said funds raised from the event would help its Help Us Help Them campaign.
Earlier this year the charity launched a fundraising mission to raise an extra £150,000 by spring next year for the campaign due to a growing number of people coming to it for help.
Last year the charity provided around £600,000 in direct financial support to more than 900 people – the year before the charity helped 688 people.
The Edzell golf event attracted 19 teams of four with the top prize won by a team called The Special Ones comprising Roy Hadden, Jim Cargill, Tom Cargill and Andrew Gilchrist.
The charity’s development officer, Margo Wills, said: “Thank you to all the companies who sponsored holes, prizes and raffles and to the dedicated golfers who braved the elements to raise a fantastic £4,600 which really boosts our Help Us Help Them campaign.”
She asked anyone wishing to donate to the campaign or anyone in need of help to contact the charity on 0300 111 4166.
