A well-known pedigree Simmental breeder from Moray has been confirmed as one of the judges for this year’s Smithfield Festival.
Iain Green, or Corskie Farm, Garmouth, by Fochabers, will judge the pedigree calf show interbreed championship and the Duke of Norfolk pedigree calf group of three section.
The event, which takes place on November 15 and 16 at the East of England Showground in Peterborough, will also feature another Scottish judge.
Gavin Scott, from Gateside Farm, Linlithgow, will be responsible for naming the highly coveted commercial cattle champion at the fixture.
The sheep section will be led by Andrew Mutch from Mutch Meats in Oxfordshire, who will use his combined knowledge of farming and the sheep meat market to select his champions.
Show director, William Haire, said: “Andrew Mutch, Gavin Scott and Iain Green are fantastic assets to the event team and have enormous experience in judging the best show animals in the UK.”
