A Texel ram lamb from north-east breeder James Innes’ Strathbogie flock at Dunscroft, Huntly, has sold for £60,000 in a private deal.
Mr Innes will retain a third share of February-born Strathbogie Yes Sir, with the other two thirds sold to fellow north-east breeders – Robbie Wilson who runs the Milnbank flock at North Dorlaithers, Turriff, and Graham Morrison who runs the Deveronvale flock at Inchbruich Farm, Cornhill.
Yes Sir is by the 14,000gn Millar’s Windbrook and out of an embryo transfer sister to Strathbogie Uno, which sold in 2013 for 10,000gn.
He was originally destined for the Scottish national show and sale of Texels in Lanark later this month, but was snapped up privately before the fixture.
