TV broadcaster, explorer and marine biologist Monty Halls will be a guest speaker at an oil and gas industry environmental event in Aberdeen next month.
Mr Halls, best known for presenting the BBC series Monty Halls’ Great Escapes, will address the annual E-Reps Forum, which takes place on 5 October.
Established in 2012, the conference and exhibition is aimed at environmental professionals from across the offshore oil and gas industry.
Mr Halls said he would be sharing his experiences of the natural world, and encouraging discussion among delegates about issues facing the industry.
He added: “It’s vital that we protect the environment we live in and to understand what’s required for the planet and its inhabitants to survive.
“I’m looking forward to attending the E-Reps Forum and finding out more about the energy sector as a whole.”
Jill Rennie, founder and organiser of the E-Reps Forum, said: “We’re thrilled to announce Monty Halls as one of our key speakers.
“Monty’s knowledge and experience of the natural world is astounding; he’s visited some of the most remote environments on earth. I’m very much looking forward to welcoming him to the E-Reps Forum and enjoying his enthusiasm and passion for environmental issues.”
The event, at Jurys Inn, Aberdeen Airport, will include presentations from industry speakers on a range of subjects, including dealing with drilling and changes in environmental legislation.
