Sofa and floorings retail chain ScS has invested £1million in its new site in Aberdeen and created 16 jobs.
The retailer moved into a 16,000sq ft store at Kittybrewster retail park last week that had been vacated by Poundland.
To celebrate the store opening, ScS is hosting a charity event on Saturday 22 October with giveaways, fundraising and the chance to see a few famous faces from the local area, the company said.
Dawn Crosby, branch manager at ScS Aberdeen, said: “We are incredibly excited to open the doors to shoppers in Aberdeen.
“We are also thrilled to be able to bring 16 new roles in the Aberdeen area, a mixture of full and part time positions across different levels in the store have all been recruited from the local community.”
The company was founded in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear in 1894. It listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2015. Prior to this had been sold to private equity firm Sun Capital in 2008 after it fell into administration.
