Aberdeen Asset Management has stood by tradition by bringing a piper to herald the start of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.
Held in a ski resort in the eastern Swiss Alps, the annual forum attracts business heavyweights, political leaders, intellectuals, journalists and celebrities with a cause, to discuss the most pressing issues facing the world.

Piper Stuart Sampson joined Aberdeen chief Executive Martin Gilbert at the meeting where the FTSE-250 firm is hosting a cafe. The theme this year is Responsive and Responsible Leadership.
