Apprentices in Moray are going live on social media to encourage other youngsters to join their workshops.
A video stream will be broadcast from the sessions at Moray College and the region’s secondary schools showing students at work learning their craft.
The event, which has been organised as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week, will also allow viewers to pose questions to the students and get immediate answers.
Willie Wood, chairman of Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), which is supporting the event, is eager to use technology to reach out to as many people as possible.
He said: “An apprentice is worth the investment. Motivated apprentices bring new thinking and fresh energy.
“Learning on the job helps you get to develop your workforce to meet the specific needs of your industry.”
Businesses which have decided to invest in employees by giving them apprenticeships will also be taking part.
Success stories from across the region will be told by young people who have gained employment from joining training schemes.
Guest speakers have also been arranged for presentations during the awareness week for employers wanting to know more about apprenticeships and parents who are eager to guide their children into work.
Skills Development Scotland’s Moray area manager Dave McCallum said: “The week is a great chance for employers to find out more about the benefits of apprenticeships and work-based training.
“There are lots of ways for employers and organisations to get involved from recruiting apprentices to sharing successful stories.”
Scottish Apprenticeship Week runs from Monday, March 6 to Friday, March 10. Places at the events can be booked by phoning DYW on 01343 610388.
