An Aberdeen payroll and tax compliance firm has opened a new office in the US to help build on its “competitive edge” in the market.
Activpayroll opened a branch in Florida this month and has appointed Christopher Edgar as Vice President – Americas Region to lead the new office.
He has over 20 years’ experience in the consulting/services industry and has fulfilled a number of senior roles for various global payroll service organisations.
Activpayroll has been working in the Americas region for over 10 years, but believes that having a team in Florida will allow greater control and a competitive edge to the growing business, the company said.
Alison Sellar, chief executive of Activpayroll, said: “I am delighted to finally share the news of our Florida office.
“We’ve worked really hard over the last 15 years to grow Activpayroll to serve over 1,000 customers in more than 120 countries across the globe, and I believe that our latest Activpayroll location highlights this.”
Mr Edgar added: “I am extremely proud to be expanding the Activpayroll brand across the Americas.
“A lot of hard work, commitment and enthusiasm have been put into setting up this office and seeing it come into fruition is a great achievement in itself.”
The company employed 95 people in the year to the end of March 2016 across 13 further offices in 11 countries.
In the same year, the company’s turnover rose 23% to £10.5million, while pre-tax profits almost doubled to £2.3million.
