A new director has been appointed to oversee the delivery of the £800million new community of Countesswells in Aberdeen.
Taking up the role with north-east construction firm Stewart Milne Group (SMG) is Allan McGregor, who was already project manager for the Countesswells development of 3,000 homes.
The overall scheme also includes schools, community facilities, business accommodation and green spaces.
SMG chief executive Glenn Allison said: “Allan’s promotion is richly deserved. His experience of working on infrastructure projects, coupled with his track-record in delivery and the knowledge of Countesswells, make him the ideal person to lead this major project.”
Mr McGregor joined the Countesswells project in 2016 and has 20 years’ previous experience working in public and private development management for Robertson Group and Morgan Sindall Group.
He takes over his latest job from Jim Fitzsimons, who is to become director of special projects for SMG in central Scotland but will still be in aspects of the Countesswells project.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen firm Internet for Business has appointed Jane Stewart, strategic development director at William Tracey Group, as a non-executive director.
