The 2018 edition of the prestigious cHeRries Awards has a new category celebrating successful human resources (HR) teamwork.
A terrific team of the year will be announced, alongside other winners, at the June 1 award ceremony at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
The new category is open to both established HR teams and/or teams which were formed to complete a specific project and have excelled at their job by partnering with the wider business.
The terrific team award is sponsored by international law firm CMS, which boasts one of the largest employment law teams in Europe.
In the UK alone, CMS has 10 partners supported by more than 40 lawyers in an employment law team spread across six offices.
The firm’s legal experts provide support on day-to-day issues as well as the most complex technical employment problems.
Alison Woods, partner and head of employment and pensions for CMS in Scotland, said: “We are delighted to support the 2018 cHeRries Awards and to celebrate excellence in HR management across the region.”
Urging businesses and their HR professionals to get their entries in before the February 19 closing date, Ms Woods added: “Has your HR team excelled this year? Get the recognition they deserve by entering now.”

Now entering their 11th year, the cHeRries Awards are among the most highly-prized business gongs in the north-east.
The competition is widely seen as the perfect platform for showcasing some of the best HR professionals and practices in Scotland.
Its climax, when the category and “top cherry” award winners are unveiled, continues to attract an audience of more than 450 people.
