The countdown is on for final entries to a prestigious annual award ceremony aimed at celebrating outstanding HR professionals.
With just 10 days to go until entries close, judges at the cHeRries Awards are looking for workers to nominate their colleagues who have shown an “outstanding contribution” to the company in the last year to take home the most prestigious gong – The Top Cherry Award.
The accolade is being sponsored this year by wealth management firm Mattioli Woods.
Alan Ferguson, managing director of employee benefits, said: “As a local company, we are keen to recognise outstanding talent and believe that great people, strategies and HR practices are vital in enhancing business performance which, in turn, makes an important contribution to the area’s economy”. Now entering its 11th year, the 2018 ceremony will be held on June 1 at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, when the winners across 10 categories and the much-prized “top cherry” award will be unveiled.
The awards are run by DC Thomson Media and the glittering annual event attracts an audience of more than 500 people.
Previous winners of the Top Cherry include solicitor David Burnside and Peter Nicholson, HR director at Wood Group, while the 2016 winner was Sean Saluja from Burness Paull.
Other categories include Excellent HR Manager, Exemplary Employer of Choice, Extraordinary HR initiative, Fantastic HR Adviser, Outstanding HR Director, The Blossoming Award, the Tremendous Learning and Development, Exceptional Employee Engagement, Terrific Team of the Year and Superb Services to the Industry.
