Aker Solutions UK country manager Sian Lloyd Rees said yesterday the £8 million spent on the firm’s rejuvenated subsea services base would help “build a world-class service capability” in Aberdeen.
Speaking at the official opening, Ms Lloyd Rees said the base in Dyce would allow the company to work in a more “flexible and agile” manner as it looks to grow its subsea capability.
She added: “We have a large installed base here in the North Sea and what we want to do is look at how we evolve a more agile and versatile service.
“The North Sea is a mature basin and we all know we need to work in a more different, flexible and agile way to ensure we can maintain the production of offshore assets and keep the industry vibrant – to keep it operating and very relevant in terms of oil and gas production.”
