The world’s largest law firm has appointed a new Scottish-based director specifically to help grow the development of women at the company.
Dentons, which has offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, yesterday announced they had added two new leadership roles to promote females at the firm and help them enhance their business development and marketing skills.
Amanda Jones will take on the role of women’s advancement director, and Kate Broer will take on women’s business development. Ms Jones is an employment partner based in Edinburgh. She joined Dentons in October 2017 as part of its merger with Scottish law firm Maclay Murray & Spens where she was a board member and head of the employment practice.
As women’s advancement director, Amanda will focus on the development and progression of women lawyers to partner and leadership positions.
She said: “Dentons is committed to being the most inclusive law firm in the world.
“I’m honoured to have been chosen to take on this new role and look forward to helping drive forward initiatives that will support the development of our female lawyers.”
Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin said: “We must do all we can to help support the advancement of women in their careers. Dentons are leading by example in helping to enhance females in their business development and marketing skills.”
